Court remands salesman over fifty-two thousand one hundred naira theft.

The police in Lagos has arraigned a twenty-one-year-old salesman for allegedly stealing fifty-two thousand one hundred naira from his employer.

Noah Oladunjoye was arraigned before an Apapa Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing the money from Adekunle Adelojo, a dealer in soft drinks.

Chief Magistrate Oluyemisi Adelaja remanded the accused in prison custody after he pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge and was unable to apply for bail because he did not have a lawyer.

Adelaja ordered the police to produce the accused in the court on June thirty for further hearing.
The Prosecutor, Sergent Benedict Unawunwa, had submitted that the accused committed the alleged offence in February at Navy Road, Ajegunle, Lagos.

Under cross examination by the prosecutor, the accused admitted that he was a salesman to Adelojo, but that the money was removed from his pocket by a thief.

He promised to pay back the money in bits.
