Landlady bags ten thousand naira fine for poor environmental sanitation.

A Grade A Customary Court in Mushin, Lagos,has fined a landlady ten thousand naira after she pleaded guilty that her house was in a poor sanitary state.

Court President, Abayomi Ipaye said as a result of the poor sanitary state of the building, the landlady, Dorcas Okeowo, endangered her tenants’ lives.

The Mushin Local Government Council had accused Okeowo, whose building is located at Odunsi Street Mushin, of failing to repair her dilapidated bungalow.

Council’s sanitation officer,Raji Razak, said the landlady did not repair the houses’s cracked fence and she passed a waste pipe through one of the rooms.

The Eighty-five year-old landlady, who was represented by her son, Adeyinka, apologised for the poor state of the house.

Court president adjourned the case till June twent-nine to enable the affected tenant to appear in court.
