Three soldiers arraigned for robbery.

The police in Lagos has arraigned three friends, who claimed to be soldiers, over alleged conspiracy, theft and illegal interception of goods.

Abdulraman Sanni, Sanni Usman and Shehu Danladi who were charged before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court, pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge.

Prosecutor, Inspector Barth Nwokenye, told the court that the accused, who were dressed in military uniforms, diverted a trailer which carried six hundred bags of sugar.

He said the goods belonged to the Dangote Group of Company and that the trailer was conveying the items from Lagos to the northern part of the country when it was intercepted and diverted by the accused.

Magistrate Teslim Elias granted the accused bail in the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand with two sureties each and adjourned the case till June thirty for further hearing.
