The police in Lagos has arraigned a twenty-five-year-old housemaid, Mary Peter, for allegedly stealing her employer’s jewelry, worth four hundred and fifty thousand naira.
Mary is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing before Chief Magistrate O. J.
Awope of the Igbosere Chief Magistrate’s Court.
Prosecutor, Inspector Augustine Onwuemene, said the accused on March twenty-one, at Sam Udoka Villa Estate, Ajah, Lagos, conspired with others now at large to commit the offence.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was admitted to bail in the sum of one hundred thousand naira with two sureties in like sum.
Awope adjourned the case till July seven for further hearing.
