A twenty-four-year-old petty trader has prayed the Ikorodu Customary Court in Lagos State to dissolve her two-year-old marriage over alleged neglect by her husband.
Olamide Ogunlana told the court that her husband, Olawale Ogunlana, had not been taking care of her and their only child, aged one.
She pleaded with the court to dissolve the union to save her from untimely death, saying she was no longer interested in the relationship.
The plaintiff urged the court to grant her the custody of the child who, she said, had been taken by Olawale.
Responding, Olawale consented to the dissolution of the marriage, saying that he was no longer interested in it.
In her ruling, Court President, Remi Adesanya, said the respondent was in support of the dissolution of the union and it showed that both parties were no longer interested in it.
She directed Olawale to bring the child to the court on monday when judgment would be delivered.
