SIX REMANDED IN PRISON CUSTODY.

Four undergraduates, including two brothers have been remanded in prison custody over a robbery charge.

An Igbosere Magistrate’s Court ordered that the accused persons Paul Musa, Osas Amenaghawon, Jeffrey Amenaghawon and Sunday Daomi be kept in Ikoyi Prisons till June twenty-three, pending the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Charged with a two-count offence of conspiracy and armed robbery, the pleas of the accused persons were, however, not taken.

The prosecutor, Sergent Stephen Mono, alleged that the accused persons with others still at large, had on April twenty-four in Ajah on the Lagos/Epe Expressway committed the offence.

Counsel to the accused persons, H.U. Ofondu said the court lacked jurisdiction to try the matter as it involved armed robbery.

Magistrate, J.A. Adegun, insisted that the court had jurisdiction to rule on the prosecution’s application to remand the accused persons since some items were recovered from them.
