Accounting officer arraigned for allegedly defrauding college.

A Senior Accounting Officer with the West African College of Surgeon, Lagos, Oladele Solomon,has been arraigned for allegedly defrauding the college of thirty-nine point nine million naira.

Oladele is standing trial before Chief Magistrate, I. O. Akinkugbe of the Igbosere Chief Magistrate’s Court, Sura Street, in Lagos Island.

Prosecutor, ASP Albert Ebhota said that between April last year and January this year Oladele stole five five million naira and twenty-seven point nine million naira totaling thirty-three point five million naira from the college.

Ebhota told the court that the accused also forged eighteen different First Bank Plc. cheques amounting to five point eight million naira propery of the college.

Oladele pleaded not guilty to the eleven-count charge of intent to defraud, forgery, altering and stealing.

Akinkugbe granted the accused bail in the sum of five hundred thousand naira with two sureties in like sum and adjourned further hearing till July fifteen.
