Two Lagos based clearing agents appeared before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for allegedly forging Customs duty papers.
The accused, Adewunmi Are and Oyewunmi Bunmi are standing trial on a four-count charge of conspiracy, fraud, stealing and forgery.
When the charges were read to them, they both pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutor,Sergent Ayorinde Ezekiel told the court that the accused forged custom duty papers with the intention of clearing an unregistered Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep at the Tincan Island Port, Apapa.
Magistrate, M.O. Olajuwon admitted the accused to bail in the sum of one hundred thousand naira with one surety each in like sum.
The case was adjourned till July six for further hearing.
