The police has arraigned a thirty-six-year-old man, Omotayo Johnson, before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, for alleged attempt to kidnap.
The accused, who claimed to be a businessman, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy and attempted kidnap before Magistrate Folashade Kayode.
Prosecutor, Inspector Nicholas Atumonye, told the court that the accused in April at Ikoyi, Lagos, conspired with two persons to kidnap one Oluwatobi Osibodu, his business partner.
Atumonye alleged that Johnson gave Tommy Ebikeme and Edward Aniegboro one hundred thousand naira each to commit the crime.
Johnson pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of three hundred thousand naira with two sureties in like sum.
Kayode adjourned the case till July fourteen for further hearing.
