Workers of Julius Berger Construction company have in Lagos barricaded the four routes on the Iganmu interchange bridge to protest the alleged killing of a colleague.
The workers who blocked the road with their trucks, alleged that one of their senior drivers was thrown down the sixteen-metre-high bridge by a policeman.
The incident resulted in a gridlock on the Orile-Iganmu and Ijora roads during rush hour.
It forced many commuters, especially public workers, to abandon their vehicles and trek to their offices.
The protesting workers were demanding the release of the corpse of the driver simply identified as Baba Ahmed, who they alleged, had been taken away to an unknown place by the police.
When contacted, Police Public Relation’s Officer, Frank Mba said he was yet to be briefed.
He, however, promised to contact the Iporin-Alaka Police Station where the officers might have been drafted from.
That Julius Berger is handling the expansion of the Lagos-Badagry expressway.
