The Lagos State Government has been commended for setting up the Security Trust Fund.
This is because the fund had empowered the police to be more efficient.
Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone two, Azubuko Udah said the government had made the security and safety of residents its top priority.
Udah said the Lagos government shared the view of Maslow, the renowned sociologist, that security is man’s first basic need.
He also commended the Ogun government for providing ten patrol vehicles to support the police command in the state.
Commenting on the heavy traffic on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the AIG said the various religious organisations along the road, had promised to assist in decongesting it.
Udah commended the policemen in the zone for their dedication to duty, saying welfare and logistic issues were the main challenges confronting the zone.
He appealed to Lagos and Ogun governments, corporate organisations and individuals to provide operational vehicles and other equipment for the police, to enable them to fight crime.
The Police Boss commended the Federal Government for also providing fifty-nine marine boats, equipped with ammunition, to the police.
