Fifty-year-old mechanic in police net for defiling seven-year-old girl.

The Police in Lagos have paraded a fifty-year-old widower name withheld, for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl.

Police Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, who paraded the suspect said he had confessed to luring the girl with biscuits.

Mba said the widower who is also a mechanic, was arrested on June six at Iyana-Igbede, Ilemba, Lagos and had confessed to having defiled the little girl on four different occasions.

According to him,the suspect, who lost his wife three years ago, claimed that he usually lured the girl into his room whenever she was asked to fetch water from his compound.

Mba explained that the mechanic's alleged amorous behaviour was exposed when the victim’s eldest sister caught them in the act and reported the incident to their grandmother, as their mother was away on a business trip.

He said the girl was taken to the Badagry General Hospital for test and the result showed that her hymen had been broken, while her private part was emitting a foul odour.

Police Commissioner, Marvel Akpoyibo, had ordered that the suspect be charged to court immediately.
