A sixty-six-year-old businessman has in Lagos pleaded with the Mushin Customary Court to dissolve his one-year-old marriage, alleging infidelity by his wife.
The petitioner, Dauda Mustapha told the court that his wife, Selimot, was an unfaithful partner.
She has multiple partners outside her matrimonial home, she is not faithful to me.
Mustapha said he married Selimot following the death of his wife, who did not have any child for him.
The estranged wife, Selimot thirty-four year old, a foodstuff seller, agreed that the court should dissolve the marriage in that there was no love between them anymore.
She, however, asked the court to compel her husband to pay the three hundred and sixty thousand naira he borrowed from her before the dissolution of the marriage.
President of the court, Abayomi Ipaye, said the court had no choice than to sever the relationship since the couple had consented to its dissolution.
Ipaye, however, adjourned the case till June thirty to enable the couple to settle the issue of debt.
