The Police in Lagos have foiled anattempt to kidnap the son of the Chief Executive Officer of a bank.
The police have equally arrested three suspects, including a Geologist, Omotayo Mobolaji-Johnson, working with the United States oil major Chevron.
Police Commissioner,Marvel Akpoyibo made this known in Ikeja while parading the suspected kidnappers and other suspected criminals arrested by the police.
Akpoyibo, who did not mention the names of the bank executive and his son, said the Police through intelligence reports intercepted information about the kidnapping.
The reports that other suspected kidnappers paraded include Tommy Ebikeme and Edward Anigbhorom both allegedly recruited from the Niger Delta by Mobolaji-Johnson.
According to him, as soon as they got the information, he mobilised intelligence and undercover operatives around the office premises for surveillance.
He said the efforts of his men paid off several hours later, when they arrested the three suspects connected with the plot.
The Police Boss said two vehicles, a KIA SUV and an Infinity Sports Utilitiy SUV, which were being used by the suspects to monitor the movement of their victim were recovered.
Other items recovered from them are some substances, suspected to be sleeping drugs, syringes, with which the suspects intended to inject the victim.
He said preliminary investigation indicated that the kidnappingplot was hatched and masterminded by Mobolaji-Johnson, whose wife was working in one of the companies owned by the targetted victim's father.
Crime Correspondent,Jide Alli-Balogun reports that Mobolaji-Johnson and the other suspects refused to speak with newsmen when they were asked some questions.
