Six Nigeria Police Pay Officers were on Thursday arraigned in Abuja for alleged conspiracy, forgery and fraudulent practices.
Police Public Relations Officer, Olusola Amore in a statement, named the accused as Enosegbe Friday, Police Pay Officer, Comfort Aguacha, an Account, and James Njenobi, Internal Auditor, all from Abia Command.
He said the others from the Ondo Command were Joseph Awoyomi, Police Pay Officer, Remi Rawa, Internal Auditor, and B. Ariyo, a Varition Officer.
Amore quoted the Inspector-General of Police, Hafiz Ringim, as reiterating the Nigeria Police resolve to eradicate all forms of fraud and fraudulent practices in the Force.
Ringim had alleged at a meeting with police pay officers from all the commands on Nov. 14 that there was a massive fraud in the Police Fund.
He consequently went ahead to set up a task force to investigate the allegation.
