Three employees and three customers of African Steel Mill, Lagos, were on Tuesday arraigned for allegedly diverting the firm’s N29 million.
The accused are Soyemi Adepere (37), Stanly Okemieze (30), Osadebe Andrew (28), Alimi Isa (47), Adewumi Suleiman (53) and Dele Adeyemi.
They are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing before Magistrate Folake Davies-Abegunde of the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Aderemi Olajuwon, told the court that the accused on Aug. 7 at the Ikorodu premises of the company conspired and diverted the money.
He said the offence contravened Sections 516 and 390(6) (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State, 2003.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
They were granted bail in the sum of N2.5 million with two sureties each in like sum.
Davies-Abegunde adjourned the case till Jan. 27 for further hearing.
