A 30-year old house wife, Adenike Olalekan, who was squatting at a Cherubim and Seraphim Church with the intention of observing prayers at 8, Oluwalogbon Street, Somolu, Lagos, has allegedly bitten the breast of the wife of the minister of the church, Bunmi Adewunmi.
Olalekan reportedly vent her anger on the pastor’s wife as a fall out of the crisis which was said to have been on for three years between Mother in Israel Deborah Adewunmi Okoh and her younger brother, Rotimi Adewunmi, the church’s minister.
The case between the two siblings is still pending at Somolu Magistrate’s Court 12 and Ogudu Magistrate’s Court.
Adewunmi and Okoh have being having problems over the naming of the church, with the latter accusing her brother of using fetish means to conduct services, an allegation he kicked against.
The service days and members were divided between the duo by the elders of the Cherubim and Seraphim sect, but this could not solve the problem since they both live in the same house within the church premises.
When the case was brought to the Ogudu Magistrate’s Court, they were referred to the Citizens Mediation Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, where they were warned to maintain peace or the church would be closed down.
Trouble, however, started when the suspect, said to have taken sides with Okoh, allegedly poured dirty water on Adewunmi when he was washing a handkerchief in front of the house, who immediately reported the case to his sister.
The atmosphere was said to have become charged, prompting Olalekan to report the matter at the police station and the Divisional Police Officer, SP James Chu, invited the warring parties for settlement.
Not satisfied with the terms of settlement, Olalekan allegedly hired thugs who beat up the minister’s wife and during the scuffle, Olalekan allegedly bit her breast.
The case is still being investigated.
