A 32 year-old man, Mathew Ogunremi, was on Tuesday docked for failing to produce a suspect on police bail.
Ogunremi, who is facing a one-count charge of breach of agreement before the Magistrate C. J. Mommodu of the Ikeja Magistrate’s Court, was, however, admitted to a bail of N100,000.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Augustine Orji, alleged that Ogunremi entered into a N500,000 bail bond that he would produce one Joseph Adebayo, a suspect, on demand.
He said, however, that Ogunremi on June 30 failed to produce the suspect who was to be charged to court.
The prosecutor said the Ogunremi should show cause why he should not forfeit the N500,000 bail bond he entered into under Section 132 (1) of the Administration of Criminal Justice, Laws of Lagos State.
In her ruling, Mommodu said in addition to the bail, the accused must produce two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case till Jan. 7, 2011 for further hearing.
