Over alleged infidelity by her spouse, a 38-year-old business woman, Alimat Awolere, on Friday, urged a Mushin Grade “A” Customary Court in Lagos to dissolve her marriage.
The petitioner told the court that her husband, Ayinla Awolere, 42, had not been faithful and had affairs with strange women.
The petitioner said she had moved out of their matrimonial home with their two children since April 15.
She pleaded with the court to dissolve the marriage and prayed the court to grant her the custody of the two children, saying that her husband had not been caring for the family.
The respondent, a commercial driver, agreed to the dissolution of the 12-year-old marriage, saying that he was fed up.
He pleaded with the court to grant him the custody of their two children, saying that they were his future.
Court President, Abayomi Ipaye, said both parties, who had refused to accept the judges` reconciliatory move, wanted the dissolution of the marriage.
Ipaye adjourned the case till Jan. 6, 2011 for judgment.
