Southeast governors to strengthen security
SOUTHEAST governors have resolved to strenghten security in the zone.
Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State dropped the hint Monday in Awka, when he met with Police Commissioner Muktar Ibrahim and other police chiefs.
He said his priority next year is to tighten security and solicited the assistance of the state police command.
Obi said the Southeast governors have passed a law to support security funds.
He said they would source for funds to procure equipment and accommodation for the Police.
Obi restated his administration’s commitment to work with the Federal Government on security.
Obi hailed the police for maintaining peace during the Yuletide.
He said kidnapping has reduced.
The Police Commissioner, assured Obi that the command is prepared to stop crimes.
