A 54-year-old man, Sunday Oyedeji, was on Monday charged before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court over alleged house breaking and theft of property worth more than N10 million.
Oyedeji, who is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, house breaking and stealing, however, pleaded not guilty.
prosecutor, Insp. Augustine Orji, alleged that the accused with others still at large, conspired and broke into the house of Mr David Otok and stole some Intercontinental Bank share certificates worth N2 million.
He said the defendant also stole various household items valued at N8.2 million.
Orji said the offences, which were committed sometime in March at 19, New Era Road, Iyana-Ipaja, contravened Sections 390 (9), 413, 412 and 516 of the Criminal Code, laws of Lagos State .
Magistrate, C. J. Mommodu, granted the accused bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till Jan. 7, 2011 for further hearing.
