A Lagos landlord, Ademola Adenuga, has dragged his tenant to an Itire Magistrate Court for allegedly converting one of the two rooms he rented to a hotel.
The landlord urged the court to assist in ejecting, Mr Edwin Akpan from his house located at No. 9 Elaloro St., Ikate –Surulere, Lagos.
He rented a room and parlour from me in June 2008. His tenancy expired in June 2010 but I don’t want him as my tenant again. He is a bad tenant who converted one of the rooms to a hotel, he said.
Adenuga told the court, presided over by Magistrate A.A Adefulire, that Akpan, a luxury bus driver, was using one of the two rooms to habour strange and noisy people.
He respects nobody. He plays loud music and uses his generator to disturb others. He brings people of questionable character home. He is a bad influence on other tenants, said the landlord.
The defendant was not in the court and the magistrate adjourned the case to Dec.8.
Also, a 26-year-old man, Chinedu Ekwonu was arraigned in court for stealing a NOKIA E71 handset worth N45, 000.
