Attorney-general calls for state, local, city police.

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Edo, Osagie Obayuwana, on Tuesday called for decentralisation of the Nigerian Police Force into state, local and city police for more efficiency.

Obayuwana who made the call in an interview in Lagos, said the police were a large institution and needed such decentralisation to effectively tackle security challenges.

Obayuwana said the establishment of state, local and city police would enable the institution to ensure security, even at the grassroots.

He advised Nigerians to stop complaining about the attitude of policemen but to bring into existence the police of our dream.
