Civil Defence Corps deploys 45,000 members

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed 45,000 members nationwide, to complement security for Nigeria’s golden jubilee on Oct. 1.

Commander-General of the corps, Ade Abolurin said 28,000 of the number had been deployed into the Federal Capital Territory alone, owing to its strategic importance.

The Corps as a grass roots-based security agency, is committed to the protection of lives and property of all citizens and therefore, what is needed to accomplish this extraordinary mission is the cooperation of all,Abolurin said.

He called on all Nigerians everywhere to join in the celebration `for the decades of liberty’'.

Abolurin also condemned the recent kidnap of 15 school children and called on the public to provide relevant information to combat crime.
