A 24-year-old lottery salesman, who allegedly stole sales proceed, was on Wednesday arraigned at the Surulere Chief Magistrate’s Court.
Busan Goloba, who is facing a one-count charge before Magistrate A. Tobi, is alleged to have stolen N63,035, proceeds from the sale of lotto tickets on Aug. 13.
The prosecutor, PC. Samuel Ishola, told the court that Goloba, a lotto sales officer at Funsho Williams Ave., on Aug. 13, went home with the money.
He said the lotto tickets belonged to one Blessing Bello, an agent to a lotto company.
Ishola said the offence contravened Section 390 (6) of Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State and punishable with seven years imprisonment.
Goloba, however, pleaded not guilty.
Tobi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case till Sept. 9 for further hearing.
