Rescue the kidnapped children now, Jonathan directs I-G.

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday directed the Acting Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Ringim to take all necessary steps to rescue the abducted children in Abia.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ima Niboro said Jonathan also directed all heads of other security agencies to team up with the police to rescue the children, who were abducted on Monday.

Niboro said the president condemned the act of the kidnappers as utterly callous and cruel.

He also assured them that the government would do everything possible to apprehend the kidnappers and bring closure to these ugly incidents as soon as possible.

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Monday reportedly hijacked a bus conveying the 15 Nursery and Primary School pupils to their school in Osisioma in Abia.

The children were reportedly taken to an unidentified destination while their abductors were said to have demanded N20 million as ransom.
