Two women and a man were on Monday charged before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for conspiracy and rape of a 14-year-old girl.
The accused Biola Owolabi, 41, Idiyat Somade, 45 and Sunday Mesinoye, 32 are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, abduction and defilement.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
But the prosecutor, Insp. Phillip Ugbodu, said the accused conspired and abducted the minor (names withheld) on Aug. 24 at 21, Ayodele St., Ebute Meta.
He told the court that the action of the accused left the girl with injuries to her private part.
He said the offences, which contravened Sections 221, 361 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State, were punishable with seven years’ imprisonment.
The Magistrate, Kemi Doja-Ojo granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 each in addition to two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till Oct. 11 for further hearing.
