The police on Thursday in Lagos says it has arrested undisclosed number of people over the Wednesday clash at Mushin area during which many people were injured and several vehicles destroyed.
The Lagos police spokesman, Frank Mba, who confirmed the arrest, however, refused to disclose the exact number of those arrested.
Mba said peace had returned to the area, stressing that Anti-Riot policemen have been drafted to maintain the peace.
The fighting broke out in Awoyokun area of Mushin, Lagos on Tuesday night following the alleged killing of one Shina Ajah, by unknown assailants.
The victim, it was learnt, was a member of the Mushin branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers.
Unconfirmed reports said three persons died in the clash.
