NAPTIP seeks greater stakeholders’ participation against human trafficking

Executive Secretary, National Agency for Prohibition of Traffic in Persons, Simon Egede has called for increased participation of stakeholders in the fight against human trafficking.

Egede said the task of fighting human trafficking should be a collective responsibility and not that of the agency alone, even as the country celebrates 50 years of independence.

According to him, greater involvement of the stakeholders will go a long way in preventing the consequences of human trafficking.

He said there was the need for greater public enlightenment to ensure increased knowledge of the implications of human trafficking at all levels.

Egede said as part of its national enlightenment campaign programme, the agency would carry the message to schools at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
