Man charged for stealing motorcycle

The police on Thursday in Lagos arraigned an 18-year-old man before an Apapa Chief Magistrate’s Court for stealing a Suzuki Motorcycle valued N120,000.

The accused was arraigned on a two count-charge of stealing and conspiracy.

The prosecutor told the court that the accused, Muda Jamiu and others at large, stole the Suzuki motorcycle at about 6 a.m. on Aug. 26 from where it was parked at No. 17, Casco St. Agboju, Lagos.

Cpl. John Iberedem told the court that the accused stole the motorcycle with Reg. No. QV 648 AKD property of one Mr Elias Augustine.

He said the accused committed an offence punishable under Sections 390 (9) and 516 of the Criminal Code Cap C17 Vol. 2 Laws of Lagos 2003.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Chief Magistrate, O.O. Oshin, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned further hearing till Sept. 27.
