The Police Service Commission on Tuesday in Abuja announced the promotion of seven Assistant Inspectors General of Police to the rank of Deputy Inspectors General of Police.
They are Ivy Okoronkwo, Azubuko Udah, Ganiyu Dawodu, Saurduana Abubakar, Audu Abukakar, Saleh Abubakar and Mohammed Yesufu.
Chief Information Officer of the commission, Ferdinand Ekpe said the promotion took effect from Sept. 28.
Ekpe said the commission approved the promotion at its 7th plenary meeting on Tuesday following the recommendation by Mr Hafiz Ringim, the Acting Inspector General of Police.
The commission congratulated the new DIGs and urged them to discharge their duties to the best of their ability in re-positioning the Nigeria Police to meet the challenges of policing a democratic society in the 21st century.
