A 27-year-old house-help, Monday John was on Thursday arraigned in Lagos for alleged house breaking and stealing items worth N500, 000.
John is standing trial before a Somolu Magistrate’s Court in Lagos on a three-count charge of conspiracy, burglary and stealing from his employer.
The prosecutor, Insp. Akinlabi Adegoke told the court that the accused committed the offence on Jan. 27, at No. 5, Moshood Bakare St., Gbagada in Lagos.
Adegoke said John and his accomplices broke into the residence of Mrs Biola Afolaranmi, and stole two HP laptops valued at N350,000 and a Sony Camcorder valued at N150,000
He said the offence contravened Sections 516, 411 (2) and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges
The Magistrate,B.O. Osunsanmi granted the accused bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Osunsanmi adjourned the case till Jan. 15, 2011 for further hearing.
