Man arraigned for removing victim's tooth

The Police on Wednesday arraigned Favour Eke, 36, at a Surulere Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly removing a man’s tooth during a fight.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Onime Idowu, told the court that Eke on Aug. 11, at No 17 Oshinkalu Close off Randle Ave., Surulere, beat up one Uchechukwu Ekwekwe in an argument.

He said during the fight, which followed the argument, the accused punched the plaintiff in the mouth, injuring his lower lip and removing one of his lower teeth.

Idowu said the offence contravened Section 335 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge of assault.

The Magistrate, Mukaila Fadeyi, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.

Fadeyi fixed further hearing in the case for Sept. 9.
