Police Baton Basketball Club of Lagos have enhanced their chances of booking a spot in the Super 8 with a 59-42 win over Lagos Islanders in the DSTV/NBBF Premier League.
The police dominated play, winning all four quarters, with Kelvin Dandison finishing tops with 18 points and three rebounds.
Dapo Peters and Malik Tella followed with 10 points apiece, While Peters had five rebounds, Tella recorded 10 rebounds.
The win shot the policemen to third position behind Royal Hoopers and Union
Bank respectively in the Atlantic Conference.
They will consolidate their chances of finishing as one of the four teams from the Conference if they beat second placed Union Bank on Friday.
It will be an uphill task as the bankers have amassed 22 points, while the Baton have garnered 20 points.
Pacesetters Royal Hoopers, with 24 points are home to Delta Force of Asaba at the Rivers Civil Centre on Thursday.
Ebun Comets will square off against Dodan Warriors in a local derby on Wednesday.
In the Savannah Conference, Plateau Peaks face defending champions Kano Pillars, who have secured a place in the Super 8.
The Pillars have won 12 matches and lost only once.
Kada Stars and Bauchi Nets are second and third respectively in the Savannah Conference.
